Megan Morrison is someone who thrives of creativity. She always had a passion for art and people; makeup is a very personal avenue for artistic expression which allows her to connect with every client who sites in her chair. Through her makeup brushes she can take who you are on the inside and show it on the outside. No matter what occasion, she feels everyone should feel and look their best no matter how you would like to express it.
Background
Growing up Megan was always known to be scribbling with pencil or crayons; painting or even playing instruments and playing with photography. It wasn’t a shock to see she has a passion for such an artistic career like makeup.
After graduating high school in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Megan had many options as far as a career path; nothing quite seemed like a good fit until she was told about a Makeup Artistry Program in Halifax.
Megan Morrison graduated with High Honors from the Hair Design Center (HDC) with a Diploma in Makeup Artistry. Once graduated, she had eventually gone back to school for Architectural Drafting. Some may think that it was quite a leap, but if you think about it many of those artistic skills she developed translated to that field. The only difference: not creative enough!
Megan leaped applying for a part-time position with a major makeup company, MAC Cosmetics who provided all of the education and courage she needed in nurturing her passion and creativity.
Just over 9 years, over 78840 hours of continuous creativity she has experience in Beauty, Fashion, TV, Film, and Special Effects; specialties being Bridal, Beauty, and Fashion.
The learning never stops there! The beauty industry is more than just makeup; Megan added Lash Extensions and Lash Lifts to her services. People who don’t wear makeup still need to take time for themselves; getting your lashes done is a time for you to relax, but also feel beautiful and rejuvenated after your service. Megan feels that even something as small as a lash lift can boost one's confidence and make a difference in her clients' day.
Experience
Since starting her career in 2011, Megan has worked every single day in the Makeup Industry. Still currently employed with MAC Cosmetics, now as an on- call artist, she has over 8 years working beauty experience. This allows her to work on all walks of life! You never know what you’ll find yourself creating while working in such environment; Megan has become a seasoned artist working on various skin tones and features while having an eye for detail and the ability to create a flawless look within minutes.
While Beauty and Bridal are her most common requests, Fashion and TV shoots is where her creativity truly shines. She has participated as the Key Makeup Artist for Atlantic Fashion week on various occasions as well as a CTV Guest for multiple Makeup Segments.
Megan has also been apart of a short film called JackenJill which won the 2012 Atlantic Film Festival, Pittsburgh Independant Short Film Festival 2013, Sacramento Horror Festival 2013, Bare Bones International Festival 2013, Genre Film Festival 2013
